About Saltwolf
Welcome to the official production blog for the short film Saltwolf.
Saltwolf is a project from 24 Frame Visions of Hope, written/directed by award winning filmmaker, Noah Ross, based on a short story by award winning author, Ron Ferguson.
The film centers around the journeys of its two main characters, Morel and Loom, both from a fishing village built on massive rafts tethered together and anchored to the sea floor. The village is plagued by wolf-like creatures that rise from the ocean and kill the villagers. When Morel and Loom are young, they encounter one of these saltwolves and hide, only to have the creature kill their friend, Shima.
Loom seeks revenge, trying to find the wolves' lair, until one day Morel finds him dying on deck. Loom's last words are, "There's a door at the bottom of the sea." Morel spends years of his life searching for this door to put an end to the plague of saltwolves once and for all.
When he finally finds the door and passes through it, speargun drawn and loaded, what he finds is not a saltwolf den. What he finds are people just like him, in fact many of them are villagers that he knew, but none of this compares to the most startling revelation through the door. Loom is alive and well, but is it the real Loom?
